James G. Murray C77 W77, 70, passed away on December 22. At Penn, he was a member of the St. Elmo Club of Philadelphia (Delta Phi). James met Susan Hinkle C77 his freshman year, and together they embarked on a 28-year life as expatriates, with James’s work taking them to France, Hong Kong, England, and Singapore. He worked at Chase Manhattan Bank and, later, Visa International, where he served as the executive vice president of South and Southeast Asia. James retired from Visa in 2010, and he and Susan opened a bed-and-breakfast in Asheville, NC. His final years were spent traveling between Asheville and Jakarta, Indonesia, where he lived with his partner, Eliana. James is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Doniel), Emily (Tom), and Abby (Joe), and six grandchildren.
